Troy Post 70 opens Southeast Regional with win

Troy Post 70’s quest for another World Series appearance got off to a hot start with a win in the opening round of the American Legion 19U Southeast Regional Baseball Tournament in North Carolina on Wednesday morning.
Troy Post 70 knocked off Florida Post 316 by a score of 4-0 in the opening round. Blake Wynn (Dothan) led Troy at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run, while future Troy Trojans Cody Markham (Pike Road) and Brady Richardson (Enterprise) both went 2-for-4 at the plate. Richardson scored one run. Cody Walsh (Florala) went 2-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and a run. Troy native Payne Jefcoat (Hatfield) went 2-for-4, as well.
Brody Lindsey (Dothan) earned the win on the mound, striking out seven batters and giving up one hit and no runs. Aiden Wright (Dale County) pitched two innings and fanned two batters, while giving up no hits or runs.
Troy will play the winner of Puerto Rico vs. North Carolina-Wayne City in Thursdays second round. Radio broadcasts for each game stream at, https://sportstone.net/.
