On Sunday, August 18, all roads will lead to China Grove. And, if history repeats itself, the roads will be well-traveled as those with family connections to the Concord/China Grove Cemetery will make their way “home,” said Marsha Boutwell, chair of the annual homecoming committee.
“Everyone with a connection to the Concord/China Grove Cemetery and/or Concord Primitive Baptist Church is invited to come, have lunch and celebrate homecoming with us,” Boutwell said. “Also, those who are interested in the history of cemeteries in Pike County or just the history of our county are invited.”
The arrival time for the Concord/China Grove Cemetery Homecoming is 11 a.m. on Sunday and everyone is invited to come, visit the cemetery, enjoy our shared luncheon and stay for the business meeting.”
Boutwell said, several items of special business will be presented.
“We are excited about the plans for the Concord/ China Grove Cemetery and other plans that will be of great interest,” Boutwell said. “It’s always a blessing when you can look ahead with interest in and excitement for the future.
“We are looking forward to the homecoming celebration and sharing the wonderful plans for the future of this historic cemetery and church with those who know about and care about Concord/China Grove Cemetery and Concord Primitive Baptist Church.”
