The Pike County Cattlemen kicked off their 32nd Annual Professional Cowboy Association Rodeo Friday morning with their annual Mechanical Bull Ride Competition at the Half Shell.
The mechanical bull was no match for the daring riders of all ages.
Most all riders stayed on the bull for at least 4 seconds. A few got off faster than they got on. And, several flirted with the magical Eight Seconds for bull riding.
The 2024 Pike County Cattlemen’s Champion was Kyle “Hash Tag” Lemons. However, Lemons gave the prize money to brothers, Cash and Cooper Estes, two young competitors.
And, what is a rodeo event without a queen? The Pike County Cattlemen’s 2024 Mechanical Bull Riding Competition featured the Cattlemen’s Rodeo Queen Emma Grace Broyles and 2024 Juniors Miss Riley Grant.
The Pike County Cattlemen’s Rodeo continues Saturday night with the Kids Western Rodeo, gates open at 5 p.m. The winners of the mutton bustin’ competition will be invited to attempt to ride the sheep during intermission for the enjoyment of the audience.
