The Pike County Cattlemen’s 32 Annual Professional Cowboy Association Rodeo at Cattleman Park Friday and Saturday nights was a tremendous success in attendance and in the high ridin’ cowboys and cowgirls.

Considering that the high school football season kicked off Friday night, Cattleman Johnny Garrett said the attendance at the Friday night rodeo was very good, the rodeo competition was tight and everyone had a great time.

“The “Kids Western Festival” on Saturday afternoon, was one of the best with about 200 little cowboys and cowgirls riding stick horses, roping runaway calves, shooting targets, milking cows, hauling dirt with a big dump truck and mutton bustin’.

Following the Kids Western Festival, the Cattlemen’s arena was packed for the Saturday night rodeo. Garrett said Saturday night’s attendance was not quite as large as last year’s record-breaking Professional Cowboy Association rodeo but it was close.

“The stands were full and there was standing room only” Garrett said, “The cowboys and cowgirls gave the fans challenging events to enjoy.  Inside, we had a variety of vendors with quality merchandise … and the food was great. “

All in all, the Pike County Cattlemen’s 2024 Rodeo was a great success and set the bar the Pike County Cattlemen’s Rodeo in 2025.

Garrett expressed the Cattlemen’s appreciation for the outstanding attendance, the outstanding arena competition and the many who worked to make the rodeo a resounding success.
