Troy native and internationally-acclaimed artist Fred Nall Hollis died on September 14, 2024, in Fairhope where he owned a studio and gallery.
He was the son of Mary Winifred Nall Hollis and Joe Frost Hollis.
Nall’s father was a banker and the family moved from Troy to Arab, Alabama where Nall finished high school.
Nall attended the University of Alabama and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in art with minors in psychology and political science.
He was admitted to study at the Ecole des Beaux–Arts (School of Fine Arts) of Paris, France in 1971.
