A juvenile has been charged with making a terrorist threat against a local high school.

According to Troy Police Chief Randall Barr, the TPD is actively investigating a threat made against a local school on social media over the weekend. Barr said the TPD responded swiftly and had charged the juvenile with second-degree making a terrorist threat. Barr said the juvenile has been placed on the TPD’s Short Term Juvenile Detention Facility, where the juvenile is awaiting further action.

Barr said due to timely information provided to law enforcement, officers were able to act quickly to ensure the safety of the school. Barr said the TPD is collaborating closely with the Troy City School System to investigate the incident.
