Troy Arts Council hosts Brasilis Sting Quartet Tuesday night

The Troy Arts Council will present the Brasilis String Quartet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, at the Johnson Center for the Arts in Troy.

Maggie Hammond, president of the hosting Troy Arts Council, said the Quartet performs pieces by Latin American composers, as well as classical pieces by composers such as Haydn and Dvorak,” 

Tickets are $20 for adults and may be purchased online at troyartscouncil.net or at the door. Tickets are free for elementary school students through university students.

Brasilis will also perform pieces by José Elizondo, Joseph Haydn, Astor Piazzolla, and Heitor Villa-Lobos.

“The Troy Arts Council received a grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts that helped fund much of our season this year,” Hammond, said. 

“In October, the Troy Arts Council will host a free concert on the square in downtown Troy.  Blues musician John Bull and his band will perform from 6 until 7:30 p.m.”  

Hammond said the Troy Arts Council will officially announce its 2025 season of events at the John Bull concert.
