CHHS scored first to celebrate their Homecoming matchup against Andalusia, when Antonio Frazier busted a 4-yard touchdown running, the kick by Hedrick Sanchez was good, and it was 7-0 with 7:48 remaining in the first quarter.

Andalusia answered with a quick score, when junior running back Zerrick Jones fought his way in from 15-yards out, the extra point was unsuccessful, and it was 7-6 CHHS with 5:16 remaining in the first.

The Trojans took the kickoff from Andalusia, and set up by a huge kickoff return by Jamal Downing, extended their lead on a Nemo Williams run of 3 yards, the kick by Sanchez was good, and the score was 14-6 with 3:26 remaining in the first quarter.

Frazier scored his second touchdown of the evening on a run of 6-yards, Sanchez kicked again, extending the lead to 21-6 with 7:00 still showing on the clock in the second quarter.

That score for the Trojans was set up when Andalusia fumbled deep inside their own 20, with CHHS turning the miscue into points a couple of plays later.

Andalusia’s junior placekicker Cobb Stewart put points on the board just before the first half ended on a 24-yard field goal, making it 21-9 with six-seconds remaining in the second quarter.

Stewart cut the CHHS lead to 21-12 on another 24-yard field goal in the opening minutes of the third quarter, set up by a big kickoff return by Andalusia’s Cadariyus Love to the CHHS seven yard line. The kick by Stewart trimmed the margin to 21-12 with 9:34 to go in the third quarter.

CHHS added its final touchdown of the night on the second TD of the game by Nemo Williams, this time from 22 yards away, Sanchez added another strong PAT, and it was 28-12 CHHS with 5:45 remaining in the third.

Both defenses stood their ground in the fourth quarter, with no scoring taking place, and CHHS coming out with the 28-12 win.

In unofficial stats for CHHS, Frazier gained 56 yards on 13 carries, while Williams had 42 yards on six carries.

Kellen Stewart completed eight attempts for 69 yards.

“We’re healthy now, and now we have to get back in the grove of learning each other all over again,” said CHHS Head Coach Quinn Hambrite. “Last two weeks we have been down several starters, so it finally feels good to have almost the entire team back. Hopefully with God’s will and His miracles we can get Cedric Brown back before the playoffs. That would mesh and jell this team exactly the way we thought it would be at the beginning of the season.”

Andalusia Head Coach Trent Taylor was to the point in his evaluation of Friday’s setback.

“We just got out-coached,” said Coach Taylor.

Andalusia will host Eufaula next Friday, while CHHS will travel to Headland.
