TROY, Ala., Oct. 9, 2024 – Troy Regional is pleased to announce Troy Regional Wound Care &
Hyperbaric Medicine Center is a dual recipient of RestorixHealth’s Clinical Distinction and Excellence in
Patient Satisfaction Awards. Recipients of these awards meet or exceed national quality benchmarks
over a set time.

“The Troy Regional Wound Care Center is proud to be recognized for not only its dedication to healing
but also its dedication to patient satisfaction,” said Dr. Richard Schloemer, the Wound Care Center’s
medical director. “We are proud to be a recipient of an award that recognizes the hard work and
dedication of our staff.”

RestorixHealth’s Clinical Distinction Award recognizes wound centers that have demonstrated
exceptional success by meeting or exceeding clinical benchmarks; while the Excellence in Patient
Satisfaction Award recognizes wound centers that have demonstrated superior performance in overall
patient satisfaction.

The Troy Regional Wound Care Center is dedicated to optimizing outcomes and preventing lower limb
loss in patients with non-healing wounds. The approach to wound care is aggressive and
comprehensive, coordinating traditional and advanced therapies and techniques that are proven to
reduce healing time and improve healing rates.

The center is staffed with clinicians with advanced training in wound care and hyperbaric medicine.
Integrating a team of wound care professionals optimizes patient care, while offering the most
advanced healing options for hard to heal wounds.

The Troy Regional Wound Care Center also earned dual awards for Clinical Distinction and Excellence
in Patient Satisfaction for both periods in 2023 (January through June and July through December).
The Center received the dual awards for the same periods in 2022, and the Center of Excellence
Award for January through June 2022. In addition, the Wound Care Center received the Clinical
Distinction Award for July through December 2021.

Smith explained that the center’s hyperbaric medicine service uses an oxygen-rich environment to heal
certain types of wounds. Troy Regional is the only wound care center in the immediate area with
hyperbaric chambers.
