The Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) released its state scoring leaders – offensively and defensively – on Thursday and both Pike Liberal Arts School and Goshen are among those leaders.
The Goshen offense is averaging 40.2 points per game, ranking 38th in the entire state among all classifications, while the Goshen offense is ranked seventh in Class 2A. Pike Lib’s offense, averaging 36.4 points per game, is also ranked ninth in 2A.
The Pike defense, however, is ranked ninth in the state, regardless of the classification, giving up just 6.6 points per game. The PLAS defense is also ranked third in 2A.
These two programs, both already securing playoff spots, will meet in a highly anticipated game this Friday, Oct. 11, in Goshen with playoff seeding on the line. The game will stream live on C-Spire 2’s Facebook and YouTube page.
Additionally, Pike County’s defense ranks 12th in Class 4A’s defensive rankings, giving up 15.3 points per game.
