On Thursday, the Charles Henderson Lady Trojans split a pair of volleyball matches against Emmanuel Christian and Dale County in a tri-match.

The Lady Trojans beat Emmanuel Christian by a score of 2-1, taking the first set 25-14 but falling 25-22 in the second set. CHHS won the match by taking the third set by a score of 15-9. Jordan Owens led the Lady Trojans with 11 kills, five digs and one ace, while Kahdyn Bivin added seven kills and two digs. Abby Key earned four kills and three digs. Sinai Sanchez dished 17 assists along with earning two digs and one ace.

CHHS followed that up with a 2-0 loss to Dale County, falling 25-13 and 25-21 in both sets. Owens again led Charles Henderson with seven kills, three aces and five digs, while Bivin added four kills and two digs. Key chipped in with two kills and three digs, while Katie Sparrow added two kills and four digs. Bennett Holmes earned six digs and three aces.

Charles Henderson head to Brewbaker Tech on Oct. 16 for the Class 5A, Area 3 Tournament in Montgomery. Charles Henderson faces Andalusia in the semifinals at 4 p.m.
