TPD makes arrests in Park Street shooting

On Nov. 15, the Troy Police Department issued a news statement announcing the arrest and charges made in connection to a Sept. 2024 shooting on Park Street.
TPD began investigating a shooting that occurred on the 1000 block of Park Street in Troy during the early morning hours of Sept. 22. Officers were dispatched to a large gathering on Park Street on the night of the incident, and while officers worked to disperse the crowd, several shots were fired. No injuries were reported in the shooting but damage was reported to both a vehicle and residence.
Following the investigation of the shooting, arrest warrants were issued for 20-year-old Erik Dame’Ir McClain, of Andalusia, and 23-year-old Karee Mykell Dorsey, of Opp. Both suspects are facing charges of shooting into an occupied/unoccupied dwelling or vehicle, with bond set at $150,000 each.
According to Barron, McLain was taken into custody on Nov. 12 and Dorsey is being held in Covington County Jail on unrelated charges. Upon his release, he will be extradited to Troy to face the charges connected to the shooting.

TPD was supported in the investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Pike County Sheriff’ Office, Troy University Police, Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Crime Stoppers.
