Last week, Enterprise High School senior Brady Richardson signed to play college baseball at Troy University.

The 6-foot-1-inch, 190-pound pitcher and infielder has been committed to Troy since his ninth grade year.

“They just treated me like family from the start,” Richardson said of Troy. “They took a young kid and took a chance on me and have treated me great from the beginning. There was never a doubt in my mind that’s where I wanted to go.”

Richardson earned a .411 batting average in 2024 with 10 doubles, five home runs, 23 RBIs, 35 runs. As a pitcher, he held a 6-3 record as a starter with a 1.37 ERA and 93 strikeouts. Richardson is also a member of the American Legion World Series Champion Troy Post 70 squad.

“Brady Richardson was one of our first commits over three years ago,” Troy Coach Skylar Meade said. “His improvements on the mound, in the field and in the box have coincided with his work in the weight room. He has a real chance to do both here at a high level, and his winning pedigree should only help make him ready to contribute early in his career.”

Richardson said he hopes to both pitch and play the infield. The senior has lofty goals for himself but is concentrating on the immediate future.

“Obviously, I want to make it to the next level after college but going into my freshman year my goal is just to help the team as much as possible,” Richardson said. “That’s what I’m concentrating on heading into college.”

Richardson also has his sights set on a state championship heading into his senior campaign.

“I want to win a state championship,” he flatly said. “That’s the goal. We have a really good team and have a shot to do it. I don’t know if our program will ever have a better chance than this year.”
