City of Troy announces this year’s annual Tree Lighters

On Nov. 15, the City of Troy announced this year’s Tree Lighters for the annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony.

A total of six elementary students from schools in Troy will assist Troy Mayor Jason Reeves in lighting the city’s Christmas tree on The Square and will also be riding on the float with the Mayor and Troy City Council members during the Christmas Parade.

This year’s Christmas Tree Lighters are Troy Elementary School first grader Jayden Fuller, Troy Elementary School second grader Jasper Spann, Pike Liberal Arts second grader William Drinkard, Pike Liberal Arts kindergartener Lofton Johnson, New Life Christian Academy second grader Destiny Mency and Covenant Christian School second grader Maggie Reagan.

The annual Troy Christmas Parade takes place Monday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on The Square in Downtown Troy immediately following the parade.
