A fundraiser for the Troy Resilience Project will be off and running on Dec. 14.
The TRP’s third annual Run for Resilience will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Troy University’s Tailgate Terrace.
Resilience Project Executive Director Maggie Doss said T-shirts for the 5K are still available, but the deadline to receive them on race day is past. However, she said, there is still plenty of time to sign up for the 5k run on Dec. 14. To sign up, visit The TRP’s Facebook page, facebook.com/TroyResilience, and click on the Eventbrite link. The fee for the race is $35.
“The community’s support of the Run for Resilience is huge to us,” Doss said. “It helps us to be able to keep pursuing our mission to make a difference in the lives of the people of Troy.”
Doss encouraged runners to dress in their most festive Christmas outfits for a chance to win a prize. There will be additional rewards for the race winners by age group. There will also be a hot chocolate bar, food and more.
Doss said sponsors are still needed for the event. Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor can call 334-770-0928.
Troy Resilience Project’s mission is to build resilience in families and children through secure relationships and environment. It has four core programs, mental health service, workforce development, Healthy Families Troy and support for HeadStart.
