A two-vehicle crash on Highway 231 in Pike County on Dec. 11 claimed the life of Kevin Andrew Flannagan of Opelika.

The crash occurred at 8:34 a.m. at the 61-mile marker on U.S. Highway 231, four miles south of Brundidge, in Pike County. The crash occurred when the 2008 Chevrolet Suburban that Flannagan was drive collided head-on with a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer driven by Pell City native Randall Keith Strong. Flannagan was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Strong was transported to Troy Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) are investigating the crash.
