Troy native Jayden Spearman earns offer from Troy

Former Charles Henderson basketball star Jayden Spearman earned an offer from hometown Troy University this week.
Spearman was a standout for the Charles Henderson basketball team, earning All-State and All-Messenger honors as a senior, along with earning the Class 5A Student Athlete Achievement Award. As a senior, Spearman averaged 19.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game as he helped lead CHHS to a Class 5A State Runner-Up finish.
Spearman started his college career at Enterprise State Community College last season, earning All-ACCC honors after averaging 17.7 points on 52.2 percent shooting. He also averaged 8.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
Spearman transferred to New Mexico Junior College in the offseason and so far this season he’s averaging 11.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Spearman’s Charles Henderson teammate, Austin Cross, is currently a freshman on the Troy University basketball team. Spearman has also earned offers from New Orleans and Radford University.
