For the third straight season, Troy native Zion Grady is a finalist for the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) Lineman of the Year.
Grady, now a senior at Enterprise High School, is a finalist for Class 7A Lineman of the Year after tallying 70 tackles, 28 tackles-for-loss and 14 sacks as a senior. Grady was also named first-team 7A All-State this month.
The Ohio State signee won the Class 5A Lineman of the Year in 2022 at Charles Henderson High School and was also a finalist for the award again in 2023. He transferred to Enterprise from CHHS following the 2023 season. Grady earned both All-State and All-Messenger honors in 2022 and 2023 and was The Messenger’s Defensive Player of the Year in both seasons.
Elba senior running back Alvin Henderson is also a finalist for the Class 1A Back of the Year, which the Auburn signee won last season. Henderson broke the AHSAA’s career rushing record with the Tigers this season.
