Prepare for a spell binding musical experience

When someone says “Led Zeppelin,” the soundtrack in the minds of those who know may be an epic rock anthem. But die-hard fans know that some of their best and most inestimable songs were when they unplugged their instruments.

The Troy Arts Council will present Bron-Yr-Aur in concert at The Studio in downtown Troy.

Maggie Hammond, president of the presenting Troy Arts Council said that in 1970, after two huge albums and a grueling tour of North American, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant retreated to an 18th century Welsh cottage called Bron-Yr-Aur to recuperate and write some new songs.

That was the first time the two had spent time together away from the rest of the band.

When Page and Plant got to really know each other, the songs written were quieter, gentler and more introspective. In that cottage, the idea of an all-acoustic Led Zeppelin band was born.

On Saturday, the Troy Arts Council will present Bron-Yr-Aur in concert at The Studio in downtown Troy. General admission tickets are $20 and student tickets are $5.

Tickets will be available at the door.
