Local Hoops: Pike Lib falls to Headland

A number of local teams were in basketball competition on Thursday, including Pike Liberal Arts, Goshen and Zion Chapel

The Goshen Eagles dropped a non-area game with the Barbour County Jaguars by a score of 51-43. Sam Adams led Goshen with 20 points, while Barbour County’s Lennox Myers scored 23. The Goshen Lady Eagles also lost 47-33 to Barbour County. Taraji Taylor led the Lady Eagles with 14 points and Brakiah Russell also scored 14 for BCHS. 

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots dropped a non-area game against Class 5A Headland by a score of 50-38. Sawyer Keck led PLAS with 11 points and Chase DeBoer scored eight. Jordan Kinsey led Headland with 25 points. The Pike Lib Lady Patriots also lost 53-24 to Headland. Mary Holland Stephens led the Lady Pats with eight points, while Mercy Stokes scored 28 for the Lady Rams.

The Zion Chapel Rebels dropped a Class 2A, Area 3 game against Luverne by a score of 56-21. Brodie Stinson scored 12 points for the Rebels. The Zion Chapel Lady Rebels also lost 59-29 to Luverne.
