Recently, Phil Steele Magazine released its postseason college football awards and former Pike County star Ian Foster was named to the All-American team.
Foster earned All-American Honorable Mention honors as a kick returner. Foster led the entire country averaging 32.4 yards per return this season. His 518 return yards were also in the Top 10 in the country. Foster also led the country with five kickoff returns of 40 or more yards and three returns of 50 or more yards.
Foster had already earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors as a returner from the conference but Phil Steele Magazine also named him first-team All-Sun Belt as a returner. Foster was also a starter at safety for Marshall this season tallying 48 tackles, five tackles-for-loss and four pass breakups.
Foster, a former All-State and All-Messenger athlete at both Pike Lib and Pike County High School, transferred to Southern Miss following the season.
