The Pike County Board of education approved travel requests and personnel actions at its January meeting.

Travel Requests

• Approved a request for Teresa Webb and three students to travel to and participate in the HOSA Leadership Conference and Competition, Feb. 26-28.

• Approved a request for Mike Johnson to travel to and attend the Minimum School Bus Specification Committee conference Feb. 18-20 in Trussville.

• Approved a request for Leslie Johns to travel to and attend the AASBO CSFO certificate program Feb. 10-13 in Tuscaloosa.

• Approved a request for Andrea Baxter to travel to and attend the National Education Association Conference Jan. 29-31 in Portsmouth, Va.

• Approved a request for Jeremey Knox to travel to and attend the Alabama Superintendent’s Academy, Session 2, Feb. 9-11, in Tuscaloosa.

Personnel

• Approved catastrophic leave for Alyssa Free, TPTC, for March through May.

• Approved catastrophic leave for Ronique Boyd, PCHS, from Feb. 24 through April 29.

• Approved a request to employ Skylar Fayson, SPED aide, at PCES.

Approved a request to e • mploy Dakota Leon, instructional aide, PCHS.

• Approved a request to employ Ryan McCollough, English teacher, PCHS.

• Approved a request to employ Marah-Katline Adams, nurse, PCES.

• Approved volunteer status for Major Morris for track and field at PCHS.

• Approved a request to employ Myra Duncan, bookkeeper, at GES.

In other business

• The board approved the expansion of Troy University Early College Initiative and Regional Math and Science Academy pilot program
