Charles Henderson, Goshen earn area basketball wins

Both the Charles Henderson Trojans and Goshen Eagles picked up area basketball wins on Tuesday night.

The Charles Henderson boys dominated Greenville in a Class 5A, Area 3 contest by a score of 64-29. Cody Cross led the way with seven three-pointers for the Trojans has he tallied 22 points, while Kameron Christian added 14 points for CHHS. 

The Lady Trojans also picked up their first area win of the season 38-20 over Greenville as Kamari Strozier scored 13 points and Harmony Hubbard added 11 points.

The Goshen Eagles earned a 59-41 win over the Zion Chapel Rebels in Class 2A, Area 3. Both Ahmad Rogers and Sam Adams earned double-doubles for the Eagles. Rogers tallied 12 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, while Adams earned 11 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. Ja’darius Burney added seven points, four assists, three steals and one block, while JuMari Flowers totaled 11 points and three steals. Jayden McNabb also earned seven points and three steals. For Zion Chapel, Brodie Stinson scored 23 points and Joseph LeGear scored 12. 

The Pike County Bulldogs lost a Class 4A, Area 4 matchup with Opp on Tuesday by a score of 49-42. Khalil Foster led PCHS with 11 points, while JP Pierson scored nine and Tra Davenport added eight points. 

The Pike County Lady Bulldogs also lost 30-16 to Opp in an area game. JoJo Thomas scored six points for PCHS, while Dionna Stoudemire scored 13 for Opp.
