While Davis had a number of Division 1 offers out of high school, he signed with East Mississippi Community College instead. He tallied 25 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery as a true freshman in 2021.

As a sophomore, Davis earned All-Region and All-MACCC honors with 35 tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and three sacks. He played alongside current Troy linebacker Steven Cattledge and tight end Ethan Conner at EMCC. Davis was ranked as the top JUCO defensive lineman in the country and No. 4 overall JUCO prospect by 247Sports.

Davis signed with South Carolina in 2023 and had six tackles and one quarterback hurry with one start. In 2024, Davis played in one game for South Carolina but redshirted the season. He will come to Troy with one year of eligibility left. He has experience playing both defensive tackle and defensive end.
