The Alabama Department of Transportation will begin roadwork on U.S. 231 in Brundidge Monday morning.

According to a news release from ALDOT, the project will begin north of Highway 93 in Brundidge and extend to the west city limits.

The project will entail planing, resurfacing and painting traffic stripes on the 2.17 miles of Highway 231.

The roadwork is scheduled to be completed within 40 business days.

Traffic signs will be erected to help assist motorists with traffic.

ALDOT reminds drivers to reduce their speed and use caution when traveling through and around the equipment and workers.
