Tailgate Terrace getting makeover

Those who pass by Troy University’s stadium entrance on George Wallace Drive may notice things seem out of place, and that’s simply because they are.
But, come July, the area will seem a bit more put together and much different than it has in the past.
“One of the things we’re doing is major improvement to that part of the campus there as you come into the main entrance,” said Senior Director of the Physical Plant Mark Salmon. “The primary focus is the university’s efforts to improve that space so it compliments the rest of the area.”
Salmon said the space will still serve as the tailgating area for home football games.
“The completion date we’re setting is for July 1, so by the time football season is around here, we will be using it and enjoying it,” he said.
The look will be similar to that of the campus’ main quad in front of Bibb Graves Hall, except there will be no fountain.
“We will have some nice grass and irrigation. In the middle we will have our flag poles and there will be sidewalks and light poles,” he said.
