Carlisle-Smith

Gilbert and Jackie Carlisle of Troy are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Christy Ann Carlisle, to Robert Edward Smith, son of Robert and Margarita Smith of Muscle Shoals.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Jane Carlisle and the late Joseph Carlisle of Troy and Cleone Rogers and the late Jack Rogers of Troy.

Christy was the valedictorian of her 1999 graduating class from Pike Liberal Arts School. Miss Carlisle is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Apparel Merchandising, Design, and Product Development and a minor in International Human Sciences. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She is the head designer of eveningwear at Kay Unger New York.

Robert is the grandson of the late Truman and Millie Smith of Chicago, Ill., and the late Carmen and Antonio Lopez-Borrego of Malaga, Spain. He is a 1997 graduate of Muscle Shoals High School, a 2002 graduate of the University of Alabama and works in the energy sector for Morgan Stanley in New York.

The couple, accompanied by close friends and family, will be married at Rosemary Beach, Florida, in the spring.
