Leon Carl Shiver
Mr. Leon Carl Shiver, age 96, a resident of Gallatin, Tennessee and a former long-time resident of Wetumpka, Alabama died September 19, 2006. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 22, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ Cemetery, Brundidge, AL with Rev. Walter Albritton and Rev. Matt Albritton officiating and Ellison Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Mr. Shiver is survived by his wife, Shan Shiver of Gallatin, TN; daughter, Gloria Shiver Carroll of Hurstboro, AL; two sons, Leon Calvin Shiver, Atlanta, GA; and William Carl Shiver of Tallahassee, FL; sister, Ruth Shiver Kruger of Colorado Springs, CO; brother, Archie Paul Shiver of Wetumpka, AL; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Shiver was a charter and lifetime member of the Montgomery Kennel Club, and a member of the American Pointer Club Hall of Fame. He was a Past Director of the National Shooting Dog Championship Association and a long-time member of the Chattahoochee Valley Field Trial Club.
The family will accept flowers, or memorial contributions may be made to the Elmore County Humane Society, 255 Central Plank Road, Wetumpka, AL 36092 or to one's local humane society. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, September 21, 2006 at Ellison Funeral Home in Wetumpka. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery prior to services on Friday.

Milton Lafayette McKeller
Milton Lafayette McKeller, age 85, died peacefully at his home on September 20, 2006.
The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Friday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation preceding the service from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
The Reverend Alan McBride, pastor of First United Methodist Church, will conduct the service.
Mr. McKeller grew up in Barbour County where he graduated from Barbour County High School.
During World War II he served in both the United States Navy and in invasions in the Pacific with the Marines.
Later, Mr. McKeller graduated from Troy University and received both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Auburn University.
He taught Vocational Agriculture at Charles Henderson High School for fifteen years, leaving to become successfully employed in the cattle and timber business.
He served as a supervisor for the Soil and Water Conservation in Pike County for 38 years before retiring.
Mr. McKeller was a long time member of First United Methodist Church which he attended as long as his health allowed.
Survivors are his devoted wife, Eleanor Fallin McKeller; son, John Milton McKeller (Sheila) and grandchildren, Abbey Fallin McKeller and John Benefield McKeller; two sister-in-laws, Dale Fallin Robinson and Jane Fallin Menzen (Robert).
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny McKeller, and mother, Florence Crew McKeller of Barbour County.
Honorary pallbearers are Reverend Alan McBride, Dr. Alan Young, Dr. John Crosby, Mr. David Conrad, Mr. Henry Greer, Mr. Billy Bean, Mr. Jerry Vinson, Mrs. Estelle Byrd, Nurses at Troy Regional Medical Center, and Members of the Coffee Club at Synco's.
Marvin Samuel Sneed
Marvin Samuel Sneed, Sr., 66, of Brundidge, died at Troy Regional Medical Center, Tuesday, September 19, 2006. Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge on Thursday, September 21, 2006 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Minister Elisha Freeman officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Sneed, Jeremy Sneed, Homer Sneed, Timothy Sneed, Terry Sneed, Neal Sneed, Alan Sneed and Douglas Dansby. He is survived by 3 Sons, Marvin Samuel Sneed, Jr., Jonathan Wright (Desiree) Sneed of Brundidge, and Nathaniel Paul (Melanie) Sneed of Brundidge, Brother, Buck (Marie H.) Sneed of Brundidge, Grandchildren, Joshua Sneed, Kayla Brandy Sneed, Mathew Sneed, Michael Sneed, Jeremy Sneed, Adam Sneed, and Arlen Sneed, Aunt, Gaynell Anderson, Uncle, Paul Maulden, Sister-in-law, Marie A. Sneed, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elford and Curlie Sneed, 2 brothers, Homer and Buddy Sneed and a sister, Mattie Pearle Dansby.
