Timothy Wayne Walker

Services for Timothy Wayne Walker, 22, who died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at his home and who has passed on to a better place where there will be no more pain or suffering will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy with Dr. Mallone Chandler officiating. He will lie-in-state for 1 hour prior to the service.

Visitation was from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, July 18 at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.

He was born November 1, 1982, in Pike County. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Nettie M. Barr and a cousin, Matthew Trawick.

Survivors include his parents, Linda and William (Bud) Whitt of Troy; brother, Christopher "Bobo" Register of Troy; maternal grandparents, Margaret and Wade Sikes of Troy; paternal grandfather, Furman Register of Chipley Florida; uncles and their wives, Tony and Carolyn Register of Pasadena, Texas, Charles Register, Freddie and Wanda Bradley, Phillip and Cora Bradley, Ronnie and Sharon Bradley and Eugene and Patricia Kilpatrick all of Troy; and Benny and Nancy Whitt of New Brockton; aunts and

husband, Norma and Mark Turner of

Springhill and Jennifer Sikes of Troy; special friend, Devin Holmes of Troy

and several cousins.

Pall bearers will be Charles Register, Freddie Bradley, Phillip Bradley, Ronnie Bradley, Terry Napper and Eugene Kilpatrick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Owens, Mitchell Trawick and Todd Bradley.

Rebecca W. Johnson

Rebecca W. Johnson, 62, of Manvel, Texas, passed away Monday, July 11, 2005, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston after a brief illness. Memorial services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 22, 2005, beginning at 2 p.m. with

Rev. John Wesley Spivey officiating. Visitation will be held at Hayes Funeral Home on Friday, July 22, 2005, from 1

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mildred Willis along with a sister, Sandra Kelley.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Johnson of Manvel, Texas; daughter, Cindy (Tim) Sanders of Brundidge; son, Phillip Black of Brundidge; granddaughters, Abbey Sanders and Callie Sanders both of Brundidge; grandsons, Wesley Black and Travis Black both of Brundidge; grandson, Eric (Ashley) Black of Union Springs; sisters, Betty (George W.) Kelley of Elba, Joyce Martin of New Brockton and Mary Rimmer of Conroe, Texas.

Coach Mack Russell Wood

Coach Mack Russell Wood, 69, of Enterprise,

formerly of Elba departed this life Sunday, July 17, 2005 at Medical Center Enterprise in Enterprise, AL. Coach Wood was born in Greenville, AL February 26, 1936. He graduated from Greenville High School, East Mississippi Jr. College, and Troy State University where he lettered in football and baseball. His first coaching job was as an assistant in Auburndale, FL. In 1964 he became head football coach at Geraldine High School then moving to T.R. Miller High School, Brewton, in 1966 for 6 years. He also coached in Troy at Charles Henderson High School for 2 years. Coach Wood then moved to Elba and spent the last 18 years of his long ,successful career coaching the Elba Tigers. His teams played for state championships five times, winning one in 1969 at T.R. Miller and two in Elba – 1989 and 1992. He was the state Coach of the Year in 1969, 1989 and 1992. In 1996, Coach Wood was elected to the Alabama High School Athletic Association Coaches' Hall of Fame in Montgomery, followed by election to the Wiregrass Hall of Fame in Dothan in 1997. His overall coaching record was 214-89-4 and his 18 year record at Elba was 150-59. In November, 2004 he was honored by the City of Elba as they named the football field at Elba Tiger Stadium "Mack Wood Field." Coach Mack Wood will be remembered by his players, coaches, friends, and fans as a winner. Since his retirement from coaching in 1997 he enjoyed playing golf at the Enterprise Country Club.

Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 10:30 a.m.

with Rev. Marshall Craver officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery, Pigeon Creek, AL. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home onn Wednesday, July 20, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to the 'Coach Mack Wood Memorial Fund' for Elba Athletic Dept. P.O.
