The Hunt Family Fiddlers will perform on Monday.

The Hunt Family Fiddlers are coming to the Claudia Crosby Theater on Monday, Oct. 17 and the sponsoring Troy Arts Council guarantees a foot-stomping good time for all who attend.

Dr. Bill Denison, TAC president, didn’t exactly use those words to describe the Hunt Family Fiddlers performance but it’s doubtful that those in the audience will be able to keep their toes from dancing when the fiddling begins.

The Hunt Family Fiddlers are an award-winning family of Irish step dancers, fiddlers and singers. They bring to the stage a unique blend of traditional music and dance, Denison said.

“The Hunt family has nine members, the mother, dad and seven children with the youngest being about 10 years old,” Denison said. “They come from Chesapeake, Virginia and are very popular in that area. They have opened for the Virginia State Fair several times and three consecutive years for the Virginia Symphony. The Hunt Family Fiddlers have been held over for three years performing four different main stages at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg. How’s that for variety?

The popularity of the Hunt Family Fiddlers is not limited to their home state. They tour extensively in the United States, Canada, Scotland and Ireland.

“The Hunt Family Fiddlers perform Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational and popular tunes,” Denison said. “There will be something for everyone.”

Tickets for the Hunt Family Fiddlers concert are $20 for adults and $5 for students with IDs. Tickets will be available at the door. TAC Patrons are admitted with their patron’s tickets.

The performance begins at 7 p.m. and those who enjoy fiddling, dancing and singing will not want to miss this the Hunt Family Fiddlers at the Claudia Crosby Theater on Monday night.
