Luther Leon Hataway

Luther Leon Hataway, 80, a resident of Ramer, died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at his home. Funeral services will be Friday, October 22, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Leak Memory Chapel with Rev. Scott Sexton and Rev. Chuck Francisco officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Grady at 1 p.m. on Friday. Mr. Hataway was a veteran of the Air Force, retired from the county and a long time barber. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Lee and Mable D. Hataway, three brothers, Woodrow, Shelby and Cranford Hataway and three sisters, Lorene Allen, Willie Nettles and Roma Smith. He is survived by his wife, Louise C. Hataway; one son, Leon Hataway, Jr. and his wife, Sandy; three grandchildren, Breanne, Trent and Taylor Hataway; three brothers, Rex Hataway and his wife Glenda, David Hataway and his wife, Faye and Frank Hataway and his wife, Carolyn and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be his two nephews, David and Richard Hataway, Derrick Reese, Buddy Macon, Pat Hicks and Kyle Lonsdale. Honorary pallbearers will be Rex, David and Frank Hataway, Sonny Mills, Floyd Glen Hicks and John L. Deese. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice. Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2004 at Leak Memory Chapel from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Leak Memory Chapel directing.
