Mario "Titus" Williams, 21, is in "very critical condition" but is stabilizing after being shot Friday at 422 Elm St. in Troy.
Williams is being treated at the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham, said Troy police spokesman Benny Scarbrough.
The shooting remained under investigation Monday.
"We have some leads that we are following up," he said, but could not elaborate due to the on-going investigation into the shooting.
Williams was found shot in the chest and abdomen about 6 p.m. Friday after police responded to a shots-fired call by Shedrick Williams, 27, no relation to Mario Williams.
Mario was transported to Edge Regional Medical Center by Haynes Ambulance Service and was later transferred to the University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham. Scarbrough said the detectives are in regular contact with the hospital.
Police also recovered firearms at the scene and are currently investigating whether or not they were used in the shooting.
"We're still interviewing individuals that may have information in this case," Scarbrough said.
Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call them at 566-0500, or the Secret Witness Line at 566-5555.
