Willie Mae Lewis
Services for Willie Mae Lewis, 89, of Troy, who died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at Edge Regional Medical Center will be held on Saturday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. L.C. McMillian officiating.
Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Lewis, and son, Adolph Lewis.
Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law Edward, Samuel and Wanda and Henry and Juretha, all of Troy; William; Freddie and Mary of Detroit Mich.; and U.S. Congressman John Lewis and Lillian of Atlanta, Ga.; three daughters Ora Crawley of Detroit, Ethel and Willie Lee Tyner of Goshen and Rosa Mae and Wallace Tyner of Richmond, Calif.; two brothers Dink and Leola Carter Jr.; D.C. and Mary Carter of Buffalo, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law Ida Carter of Troy and Sweetie Lewis of Ashburn, Ga.; 27 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.
Memorials can be made to Antioch Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Lewis, Route 6 Box 115, Troy, AL 36081.
Melinda Ann Berry
Services for Melinda Ann Berry, 29, who died at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, June 27, 2003, will be Saturday, July 5, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Rock Elvy Missionary Baptist Church in Shady Grove with the Rev. Raymond Franklin officiating. Burial will follow at the Rock Elvy Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 12-1 p.m.
Visitation will be from 12-5 p.m. on Friday, July 4, 2003.
Mrs. Berry was a computer analyst and a member of Rock Elvy Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Shawvin R. Berry of Columbus, Ga.; her parents, Essie M. Baldwin of Grady and Willie J. (Dean) Barginere Sr. of Detroit, Mich.; four brothers, Roderick B. Baldwin of Columbus, Ga., Derrick L. and Ornisa Barginere of Ocean Side, Calif. And Willie J. Barginere Jr. of Detroit Mich., and a special loving brother, Dexter K. and Lisa Baldwin of Grady; two sisters, Valeria Nickerson of Ramer and Stephanie and Mike Carrillo of Las Vegas, Nev.; a grandmother, Mrs. Annie M. Barginere of Grady; a mother-in-law, Claris and Will Harris of Grady; a father-in-law, Lawrence Green of Troy; two sisters-in-law, Ambrosia Harris of Grady and Amy and Mickey McMillian of Troy; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Green of Troy; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; five nieces and three nephews; and a host of other relatives an friends including a very special loving and devoted friend, Terrisa Johnson of Columbus, Ga.
