Laurie Shirley Revill
A memorial service for Laurie Shirley Revill, 76, of Troy who died at Edge Regional Medical Center in Troy Saturday June 14, 2003 will be at 1p.m.Tuesday June 17, 2003 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday June 17 at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Frank Revill, Sr. of Troy; son, Jesse Frank Revill, Jr; of Troy and a cousin, Dr. Sheridan Shirley of Birmingham.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
Van Buren Augustus (Gussie) Gibson
Van Buren Augustus (Gussie) Gibson, age 73, of Troy died Saturday June 14, 2003 at his home. Mr. Gibson was a retired ABC Agent for the State of Alabama and a Member of Old Lebanon Baptist Church. He was the past Director of the Pike Pioneer Museum of Alabama.
Graveside services were held Monday June 16, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Green Hills Memorial Park Cemetery with the Reverend Perry Green officiating. Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. There was no visitation. Friends gathered at the cemetery.
Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, Barbara Gibson of Troy; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mabeth W. Gibson of Troy; daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Jack Byars of Troy; step daughter and son-in-law, Ashley H. and Annesley DeGaris of Birmingham;grandchildren, Deanna Beth Gibson, Nancy Allyne Gibson, Jackson Van Buren Byars and Gibson Walker Byars; step grandchildren, John Annesley DeGaris III and Isabelle Loring DeGaris; brother, John W. (Billy) Gibson of Troy; sisters,Virginia Hall of Mobile, Beulah G. Blanton of Tallahassee, Florida and Patty Gibson of Mobile.
Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his first wife, Allyne McDaniel Gibson, brother, Russell Gibson and a sister, Valerie Wells.
Serving as active pallbearers were Fred Minchew, Art McKnatt, Jerry Spurlock, Jr., Stuart Wells, Johnny Gibson and K. T. (Bubba) Cole.
Honorary pallbearers were Della Jean Tuck, Gene Booth, Bernard Pope, Jack Norton, Don Brown, Roy Poole, Gary Hughes, Dr. Ben Smith, Donnie Knotts, Jerry Reeves, George Gantt, the Outback Pickers, Harry Bullard, Glenn Bullard, Edwin Meadows, employees of Bullard's Garage and Larry Hicks.
