Saturday offers fun, excitement for everyone in Troy

Saturday offers a great chance for families, friends, visitors and home-town folk to get a great taste of Pike County.
There's really no excuse for anyone in the county to miss Troy Fest, and the goings-on at the Rec League's Opening Day Ceremonies.
Music and history buffs will find the Pioneer Museum of Alabama an exciting place to be as well.
A Civil War exhibit featuring the collections of local Civil War buffs opens, and the museum's Music Day offers a variety of entertainment throughout the day.
Whether young, old, or in-between, there's something fun for everyone.
There's plenty of down-home Southern fun planned, and it doesn't just happen -- a lot of people have volunteered many hours in planning and preparation for the day's events.
While they are too numerous to name here, it should be noted that we commend each individual who has worked tirelessly in the effort to make Saturday a memorable and enjoyable occasion.
Without the dedication of these many individuals -- and the generous support of local businesses -- our lives would be much less flavorable here in Pike County.
We urge everyone to come out and support our artists, entertainers, historians and athletes.
Together we can make tomorrow a brighter day, and a day of celebration of all the good things Pike County, Alabama has to offer.
