Karli Tribe only scored two points, but she may have made the biggest play of the game.

As the Pike Liberal Arts School Patriots held tightly to a 30-27 lead with only 47 seconds left against Morgan Tuesday night, freshman point guard Eden Harris missed the front end of the one-and-one. Rae Pinckard slapped the ball out to the top of the key and Tribe chased the ball down.

"I was just trying to get back on defense and the ball came out to me," Tribe said.

Harris ended up with the ball and got fouled again. This time, she made the free throws count and Pike Liberal Arts School held on for a 33-27 win.

"I was glad to get another chance," Harris said. "I felt bad about missing that first shot."

The win was a good end for the home part of the schedule for the Lady Patriots.

"This was a big win for us," coach Robert Hawkins said. "They beat us by 30 points last time we played them, so for us to play them like this is a big deal for us."

Harris scored 12 points to lead the Lady Patriots and Pinckard, honored after the game along with Lacee Stallings as the two lone seniors, scored seven.

The final game in the high school career of Caleb Sanders was not so pleasant. Although Sanders battled for four rebounds, the Patriots fell to Morgan 61-49.

The Patriots were in the game early, but once again a field-goal drought cost Pike Lib. Andrew Folmar scored with 3:17 left in the first quarter to give the Patriots a 12-8 lead. The next time the Patriots scored was a Dean Anderson jumper with 5:15 left in the first half, by which time Morgan had taken the lead.

The six-minute scoring drought gave Morgan the momentum.

Brandon Hooks scored 16 points to lead the Patriots and Anderson added 15. Folmar scored eight but the Patriots could not stop the Morgan players.

Allen Callaway scored 13, Reid Brister scored 11 and Rick Brignac scored 10 to lead Morgan.

Pike Lib travels to Fort Dale Friday.
