Nelson Junior Ownes, 40, of Glenwood, was fatally injured when the 1990 Ford Mustang he was driving traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.

The wreck happened 6 miles southeast of Troy on County Road 2290 about 1:40 p.m.

Ownes was taken to Troy Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

No other information is available at this time. Troopers are investigating the crash.
