Men’s golf team places 19th at LSU Invitational

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Troy State men’s golf team finished in 19th place at the LSU Spring Invitational in Baton Rouge, La., with a 12-over-par score of 300.
The tournament was scheduled to be a three-day event, but was cut back to one round due to weather. The tournament was reduced to a 36-hole format after heavy rains forced tournament officials to postpone round one until Saturday. The second, and final round on Sunday was once again cancelled due t]o weather. A wind chill of 21 degrees, wind gust of up
to 28 mph and snow flurries made conditions unplayable for the final round Invitational at the University Club.
Jared Purvis and J.C. Fernandes led the Trojans with a score of 74. Purvis and Fernandes tied for 52nd
place with 10 other players.
The Trojans will compete in the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Intercollegiate in Little Rock, Ark. on March 25.
