Willene Russell

Willene Russell, 51, of Troy died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Troy with the Rev. George Gilchrist Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Carroll Street Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Russell was born July 4, 1950 in Cuyahoga, Ohio, to Mr. James and Ester Jefferson Russell.

She leaves to cherish her memories her father Mr. James Russell of Troy; godmother, Willie Queen McQuire of Troy; god-aunt, Annie Merle Grimes of Birmingham; eight god-sisters, Willie Lois Truitt (Jimmy) of Troy, Lillie Clark (Elijah) of St. Petersburg, Fla., Minnie Banks (Thomas) of Troy, Willie M. Slaughter (Eugeanel) of Troy, Daine Hodges of Troy, Angela Truitt (Paul) of Ozark, Annie McCleod (Keith) of Ozark, Elouise Douglas (Johnny) of St. Petersburg; four god-brothers, Willie J. McQuire (Linda) of Troy, John D. McQuire (Angela) of St. Petersburg, Authur D. McQuire (Annie) of Enterprise and Worthy McGuire (Terrie) of St. Petersburg; 11 god-nieces; 18 god-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Banks Sr., Authur D. McQuire, Willie McQuire, Thomas Banks Jr., Eugeane Slaughter and Stevie Newson. Friends of the family will serve as floralbearers.

L.A. King

L.A. King, 77, of Brundidge died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2001.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23 at Mount. Olive I Baptist Church with the Rev. Daniels officiating. Burial will be in the churchyard with Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home directing.

Myrtis Stinson

Services for Myrtis Stinson, 84, of Troy, who died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at Good hope Baptist Church with the Revs. W.O. Sanders and Les Lee officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Opal Stinson of Springhill, Alvin and Jerrie Stinson of New Hope and James Edwin and Linda Stinson of Baytown, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Keith Meeks of Biloxi, Miss.; three grandsons, Curt, Wesley and Greg Stinson; three granddaughters, Barbara Lee, Stephanie Nagpal and Michelle Childree; and seven great-grandchildren, Bobby and Daniel Lee, Cole Mallory, Tori, Caleb and Ethan Stinson, Sister, Inez Campbell of Montgomery.

Pallberers will be Chris Childree, Bobby Lee, Daniel Lee, Vijay Nagpal, Curt Stinson and Greg Stinson.

Hawaith Mizell Allen

Services for Hawaith Mizell Allen, 65, of Brundidge, who died Friday, Dec. 21, at his home, will be at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with the Rev. Steve Allen officiating.

Burial will be in the Union Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Hawaith (Mike) and Kayla Marie allen Jr. of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Terri Lynn Smith of Americus, Ga.; two grandchildren, hawaith (Michael) Mizell Allen III of Panama City and Erika Kaye Smith of Americus; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Huey and Barbara Allen of Brundidge, Dewey and Dottie Allen of Brundidge and Victor and Juanita Allen of Brundidge; and four sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Larry Cook of Wing, Mary Evelyn and James Dykes of Columbus, Ga., Linda and Ricky Suggs of Florala and Iris and Elwood Broxson of Florida.
