Betty Abercrombie
Betty Abercrombie, 85, of Springhill died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.
Services were at noon, Sunday, Nov. 18 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Martha Baxter officiating. Burial was at Springhill Cemetery in Springhill with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include daughter, Glenda A. Gunter of Troy; son, Thomas Wayne (Judy) Abercrombie of Enterprise; four grandchildren, Dawn Abercrombie, Dana Copeland, Rene Gunter, all of Montgomery, and Rhonda Moll of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Joshua M. Folmar, Fred Moll IV and Kailey Moll; sister, Velma Baxley of Mobile.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny E. Abercrombie, and sister, Mildred Clark.
Pallbearers were Charles Lowery, Oree Grimes, Eddie Boutwell, Douglas Clark, Bill Thompson and Herman Rainey.

Les O’Rourke
Les Orourke, 76, of Troy died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001 at Pike Manor Health Care Center.
Services were at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 19 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy. Burial was at 2:30 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include wife, Ann O’Rourke of Troy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Celia Rose (Warren) Waters of Illinois and Sharon (David) Frenz of Wisconsin; son and daughter-in-law, Bill (Laura) O’Rourke of Georgia; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Dorsey, Kelly Frenz, Katie O’Rourke, Bryan Frenz, Jeremy Frenz, Corey Frenz, Will O’Rourke and Eric Russell; three step sons, Dr. Scott D. Russell, Michael E. (Sue) Russell and Kent W. Russell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
Ronnie Q. Killough
Ronnie Q. Killough, 48, of Dothan died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2001 at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Revs. Fred Fuller and Lane Simmons officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Suvivors include wife, Gayle Killough of Dothan; daughter, Hannah Killough of Auburn; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Rick Bannon of Nashville, Tenn., Carolyn and Arnold Black of Greenville, Sue and Jack Boutwell of Alpharetta, Ga., Bonnie and Rufus Poole of Greenville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Ann Killough of Andalusia, Kenneth and Ginny Killough of Georgiana; several nieces and nephews; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Louise Heartsill of Ft. Deposit.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Allen, Joe Jackson, Lanny Johnson, Larry Livingston, Bill Stone and RIcky Thompson.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
David Ray McLaughlin
David Ray McLaughlin, 57, of Ariton died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark with Brother Jamie Smith officiating. Burial will follow with full military and Masonic rites in the Bethel Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions are asked to be made to Ariton Masonic Lodge #171, P.O. Box 365, Ariton, AL 36311.
Mr. McLaughlin was a Master Mason for 30 years and a member of Ariton Lodge #171. He was the worshipful master for four terms and serving as treasurer. He was also a 32°, Scottish Rite and a member of the Shrine. He retired from the U.S. Army as Staff Sergeant and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, where he received National Defense Service Medial, Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and the Humanitarian Service Medal. At the time of his death, he was employed at the U.S. Post Office in Ozark.
He was preceded in death by his father, Basil McLaughlin.
Survivors include wife, Lee Ella McLaughlin of Ariton; one daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Ronny Baxley of Texasville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sonya McLaughlin of Brundidge, Shawn and Misti McLaughlin of Ariton; mother, Geraldine McLaughlin of Buckeye, W.V.; one sister, Kay Ross of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Joyce McLaughlin of Elizabeth City, N.C., Kenneth and Barbara McLaughlin of Roanoke, Va.; four grandchildren, Steven Baxley of Texasville, Jamie Ray Littlefield of Ariton, Justin McLaughlin and Nick McLaughlin, both of Brundidge; one great-granddaughter, Kelsey Littlefield of Ariton; several nieces and nephews.
