Lucas to share story

Evangelist Cinde Lucas with Overflow Ministries will be in Pike County this weekend, beginning with a Ladies Day Out at Lake Simmie on Saturday and then at three churches on Sunday.
Lucas is described as “an anointed woman of God” and those who have heard Lucas understand why, said Nellie Sue Helms, publicity chair the Ladies Day Out.
“Cinde is a spirit-filled woman who has come through very difficult times in her life, including the loss of her voice at one time,” Helms said. “She uses her gifts of singing and speaking to bring encouragement, inspiration and hope.”
Ladies Day Out will be from 10 a.m. until noon at Lake Simmie just south of Brundidge and is open to all women free of charge.
“Cinde Lucas witnesses with her teaching and her music,” Helms said. “She uses the Bible and her training as an associate evangelist with the United Methodist Church to lead the Ladies Day Out program and also her church ministry.”
Lucas is no stranger to Pike County. She has been invited by churches of different denominations to share her message and faith.
“The Ladies Day Out events were such inspirations that we wanted to bring Cinde back,” said Polly Graham, an organizer of the ladies’ event. “Cinde has a wonderful message to share anywhere she goes but the Ladies Day Out events deal with issues and problems that are unique to women. And Cinde talks to us on a personal level. She interacts with the audience and takes time to respond to questions and concerns that the women might have.”
Music is always a part of Lucas’ ministry.
“She can relate to anyone and she understands the trials that people go through because she has been through so much,” Graham said.
Graham said a light lunch will be served following the program.
“We’ll serve salad and dessert and Cinde will be available to talk privately with those who have special requests,” she said. A love offering will be taken at the Ladies Day Out. Lucas has a new album and a new book that will be available.
On Sunday, Lucas will be the guest speaker at 9 a.m. at Tennille United Methodist Church, at 11 a.m. at Williams Chapel United Methodist Church and at 6 p.m. at Riverview Baptist Church.
