Teresia Wheeler, 24, of Brundidge died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Nathaniel Larkin officiating. Burial will be in the churchyard with Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home directing.
Lois Rainer Green
Lois Rainer Green, 90, of Troy died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001 at Pike Manor Health Care Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Marvin Vickers officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Mrs. Green was the first director of all libraries in the state. The first high school annual at Union Springs High School was dedicated to her. She was the director of Coleman Library in LaGrange, Ga. for 22 years and, then, the library at Troy State University for 15 years before retiring.
Survivors include son, Tommy (Rose Marie) Green of Lynn Haven, Fla.; grandson, Thomas Lindsay Green of Lynn Haven; granddaughter, Laura Green of New York.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Troy State University Library.
Pallbearers will be Gussie Gibson, Mark Green, Michael Green, Joe Tom King, Jimmy Law and Jerry Spurlock. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Troy State University Library staff.
Visitation will be noon until 1 p.m., Saturday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
William W. Hall
William W. Hall, 57, of Troy died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001 at his home.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Rev. Chuck Francisco officiating. Burial will be at Hills Chapel Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Mr. Hall was retired from the Air Force and a graduate of Troy State University, where he earned a degree in accounting and business. He worked for the state of Alabama as chief of Compensation Services in the Department of Mental Health and retired in August 2000 after 27 years of service.
Survivors include wife, Rebecca Deese Hall of China Grove; sons, Walt Hall and Wade Hall, both of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Renee Hall of China Grove; three granddaughters, Maegan Hall, Raquel Hall and Danielle Hall, all of Atlanta; mother, Ethel Lett; father, Willie Hall; brothers, Jessie Hall, Tommy Hall and Randy Hall, all of Eclectic; sisters, Opal Hall Collier and Ann Hall Stewart, both of Eclectic.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hills Chapel Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Dees, Wiley Dees, Derick Deese, Jimmy Deese, Paul Durden and William Durden.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., Saturday at Dillard Funeral Home.
Eddie Clarence Davis
Eddie Clarence Davis, 37, of Troy died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001 at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 at Cathedral of Restoration in Troy with Bishop Apostle Willie E. Davis officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olive Cemetery in Banks with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Davis was born Jan. 10, 1964 in Pike County to Willie B. and Katie Mae Davis. He attended Pike County public schools. He was an usher at Cathedral of Restoration.
Survivors include wife, Joann Davis of Troy; two children, Tarsha Lasha Davis and Eddie C. Davis Jr., both of Troy; one sister, Mary (Victor) Robinson of Troy; one brother, Jerry (Sarah) McKenzie of Troy; mother-in-law, Minnie (Oliver) Penn of Indianapolis, Ind.; three aunts, Rebecca Wheeler, Mae Dorothy Townsend and Willie Mae McKinney, all of Troy; three uncles, Eddie Davis of Union Springs, Matthew Woods and L.C. Maddax, both of Troy; three sisters-in-law, Mae Bell Critic of Tuskegee, Minnie Pearl (Stan) Johnson, Angela (Pete) Starks, Joe Burden Jr., all of Troy, Gomer Burden of Montgomery; Zenus Burden of Indianapolis; great aunt, Mae Ester McKinney and several other relatives and friends.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers and floralbearers.
Lillie M. Hill
Lillie M. Hill, 83, a resident of the Brundidge Retirement Home died Wednesday, Oct.3, 2001 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Banks with the Rev. L.C. McMillian officiating. Burial will be held at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hill was born Sept. 9, 1918 to Jack and Lillie Bennett. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Walter (Mary) Hill and Rufus Hill, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Martha (Paul) Foster of Miami, Fla., and Matilda (James) Corbin of Jacksonville; one sister, Pinkie L. Thomas of Brundidge; a dear friend, Evangelist Mills; and a god sister, Annie Lois Boswell.
Visitation will be held from noon until 6 p.m. today.
