Leland D. Moore, 61, died at his home in Shellhorn, Friday, August 17, 2001.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 19 from the Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with Minister Jimmy Mathews officiating, Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Mr. Moore was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church of Shellhorn. He retired from the Montgomery Sheriffs Department after 17 years of service. He was currently employed by the Brundidge Police Department. Mr. Moore was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, who was loved and will be missed by all. He will be laid to rest with a Full Honor Guard.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 40 years, Glennie Sue Moore of Troy; three children, Forest Moore of Troy, Suezanne Brown of Millbrook, and Lisa Askew of Grady; his mother, Annie Virginia Moore of Montgomery; six grandchildren, Katy, Sarah Morgan and Josh Moore of Ozark, Austin Brown of Millbrook, and Emily and Quinton Askew of Grady.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Lee Tew and Alan Sanders of the Brundidge Police Department, Bill Balance, Jon Briggs, Lee Percky and Mary Griffin of the Montgomery County Sheriffs Department. Honorary pallbearers will be the Brundidge Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriffs Department.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery.
