ALLTEL named official wireless provider for TSU

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – ALLTEL has been named the official wireless communications provider for Troy State University Athletics in Troy, Ala., as part of a multi-year agreement.
As part of the agreement, ALLTEL will provide digital phones and airtime for the Troy State Athletic staff and personnel. In return, ALLTEL receives promotional opportunities and the ability to showcase its communications products and services.
"This is beneficial to both sides," said Scott Thompson, ALLTEL’s vice president and general manager for the Montgomery area. "ALLTEL is very excited about partnering with Troy State as they enter the Division I-A football program."
"We are excited about our new partnership with ALLTEL," said Johnny Williams, Troy State University athletic director. "We believe it will be extremely beneficial to our department as we move forward into Division I-A. Our coaches will have access to the best communications technology possible for recruiting purposes, which is the lifeblood of any Division I-A program."
Financial terms were not disclosed.
