Montgomery radio personality Roger Shultz has been hired as the director of corporate sales for the Troy State University Athletics Department, Athletics Director Johnny Williams announced on Thursday.

Shultz, a two-time All-SEC selection at center for Alabama in 1989 and 1990, will be responsible for soliciting corporate sponsors for signage, radio and television advertisements and other development projects. He has spent the last three years in Montgomery as co-host of a morning sports call-in show at WMSP-AM 740. He also spent three seasons as a volunteer coach at Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery.

"Roger Shultz is well-recognized in our state, and we believe he can be a tremendous asset for our department," Williams said. "He brings a wealth of experience in dealing with the corporate community because of his background in radio. He has been at the level where we are trying to go in football, so we are excited about him being on board as we move toward our Division I-A goals."

Shultz will also join the Troy State Radio Network this fall, serving as host of the pregame, halftime and postgame shows.
