Deshawne J. Brown, 20, of Brundidge died Wednesday, July 25, 2001.

Services were at 1 p.m., Monday, July 30 at Community Church of God with the Rev. Wiley Neal officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery with Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home directing.

Elizabeth Gail Allen

Elizabeth Gail Allen, 40, of Jack died Saturday, July 28, 2001 at her home.

Services were at 11 a.m., Monday, July 30 at Perdue Assembly of God with the Rev. Ray Stinson and Sister Janie Smith officiating. Burial was at Perdue Assembly of God Cemetery in Jack with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include her husband, Rodney Allen of Jack; son, James Robert Allen of Jack; daughter, Chasidy Suzanna Allen of Jack; parents, Hoss and Mary Hurst of Troy; brothers and sisters, Fredrick Anderson Hurst of Brundidge, Mary Dianne Smith of Troy, Karen Rutherford of Tennessee, Willie Fred Hurst Jr. of Jack, Timothy Gene Hurst of Troy, Kathy Jo Stinson of Jack and Michelle Parker of Troy.

William Gary Beasley

William Gary Beasley, 28, of Luverne died Saturday, July 28, 2001 at UAB Medical Center.

Services were at 2 p.m., Monday, July 30 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel of Troy with Minister Lee Jamison and the Rev. Lavon Davis officiating. Burial was at Petrey Cemetery in Petrey with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Sue Beasley of Petrey; sister, Sherri Beasley of Petrey; grandparents, Ida Furr and Janette Beasley, both of Luverne; uncles and aunts, Billy and Pat Holley of Sprauge, Benny and Gaye Beasley, Bruce and Lynn Beasley, Bonnie and Raymond Trotter, all of Luverne; numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his granddaddies, William Holley and George Beasley.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Luverne High School class of 1991.

Lila Lewis

Lila Lewis, 59, of Snellville, Ga. died Saturday, July 28, 2001 in Snellville.

Services were at 4 p.m., Monday, July 30 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel of Troy with Minister Jimmy Mathews officiating. Burial was at Antioch Cemetery in Shellhorn with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Survivors include her sister, Mary S. Cheatham of Tucker, Ga.; mother, Annette Daniel Spivey of Montgomery; nephew and his wife, Greg and Katie Cheatham of North Carolina; niece, Beth Cheatham of Tucker; great-nephew, Sam Cheatham of North Carolina; several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Loyce Spivey, and husband, Ron Lewis.

Pallbearers were Douglas Botts, Frank Oscar Bryan, Bo Coppage, Jack Daniel, Wyman Daniel and Richard Wilson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Antioch Cemetery in Shellhorn.

Evelyn Floyd

Evelyn Floyd, 86, formerly of Brundidge, died Saturday, July 28, 2001 in Newnan, Ga.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel of Brundidge with the Rev. Bob McLeod officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Brundidge with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harold H. Floyd.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, H. Herren and Otti Floyd of Kingsport, Tenn., Charles H. Floyd of Pine Lake, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Gene and Bob R. Ward of Peachtree City, Ga., Helen and Chelcie Sherman of Sharpsburg, Ga.; brother, Glen W. Herren of Homewood; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; caregiver and companion, Mary A. Kendall.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., today at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.
