Minors head to title game

The Troy National Dixie Minor team continued their quest toward repeating as District champions with a 3-2 win over Ozark on Tuesday night.
Troy National moved on to play Dothan Southern in the championship game on Wednesday. The winner advances to the state tournament in Fairhope, which starts on July 22 and runs through July 28.
Troy used a six-hit effort to eliminate Ozark with William Teal, Jake Smith, Alex Adams, Wesley Taylor, David Fleming and Jared Rogers all getting hits at the plate for Troy.
Will Starling opened on the mound for Troy and pitched three and one-thirds innings before giving away to Teal, who closed the game allowing just one Ozark hit and by striking out six batters. Starling allowed four hits and struck out three for Troy.
