Charles Henderson junior varsity improves to 13-2

Charles Henderson’s junior varsity baseball team defeated Eufaula 11-3 on Friday.
The Trojans improved thier record to 13-2 on the season.
Chase Hartley pitched four strong innings allowing just one run on two hits while striking out four.
Jason Fleming relieved Hartley to close out the game. He allowed two hits in his one inning of work.
“These guys are playing good fundamental baseball right now,” said head coach Sam Kitchens. “We hit the ball well and played good defense tonight.”
At the plate for the Trojans, Austin Ingram was 3-for-3 to lead the team.
Hartley and Fleming were both 2-for-3 for the game.
Hunter Baggett, Xavius Burden, Reilly Fox and Blake Craft all added hits for Charles Henderson. Fleming and Craft both had triples in the contest.
“I thought we ran the bases well tonight,” Kitchens said. “It’s all about getting better every time you play.”
The Trojans will next face Trinity at 5:30p.m. on March 23 at Frazier Field.
Charles Henderson’s remaining schedule consists of a rematch with Eufaula on the road on March 24 before wrapping up the season at home against Dothan on March 27. Both of those contest are scheduled doubleheaders.
