Terry Wade Sikes, a volunteer assistant with the Charles Henderson High School baseball team, died on Sunday at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.
Sikes, a resident of Troy, was 38. He was transported to Flowers Hospital on Friday, where he was placed in ICU following a stroke. The Trojans’ baseball team, who was in Dothan for the Spring Break Classic, dropped out of the tournament due to Sikes’ illness.
Along with coaching the CHHS varsity team, Sikes was also head coach of the Trojans’ junior varsity squad.
The Funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 4 at the First Baptist Church in Troy, with burial to follow at Macadonia Baptist Church in Union Springs. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be the Charles Henderson baseball team, former players, teammates and coaches.
CHHS played Carroll-Ozark on Monday, but today’s game against Opp, as well as the junior varsity game, has been postponed indefinitely. The JV Trojans game against Eufaula on Wednesday has also been cancelled.
