A hundred forty five points is a lot for an Andalusia High School basketball game, but with the return of Renaldo McClain, it was the Bulldogs who did the most of the scoring.

Andalusia paid back Charles Henderson for an early road defeat back on Jan. 6 with a 78-67 win on Friday night at the Andalusia Gym. The Bulldogs improve to 15-6 on the season.

"We didn’t play too much defense tonight, but the 78 points is our biggest offensive output of the season," said Andalusia Head Coach Richard Robertson.

"Troy has an outstanding team. No. 12 (Jermaine Jackson) is one of the best guards we’re going to see. He’s given us more trouble over the past two years than anyone," Robertson said. "What makes even tougher, is that he has more support around him."

Jackson was again sharp on this night leading the Trojans with 27 points. LaKory Daniels had 20.

But with the return of McClain, the Bulldogs had more weapons to fire at the Trojans. Andrae Leslie led McClain, Brian Weeden and Alvin Daniels in double figures with a team high 29 points.

Weeden had 16, including 10 in the fourth quarter. McClain had 13 in his first game back since an academic suspension. Daniels chipped in 12 before fouling out with 4:04 to go.

Charles Henderson Head Coach Carl Hollis didn’t like the officiating nor did he like his team’s execution.

"We didn’t execute, but we can never execute down here with these guys," Hollis said. "Some of the fouls were deserved, but some others were awful. All I know is that Andalusia is 4A and we’re 5A and this is the last time we have to play here."

The loss snapped a nine-game winning streak for the Trojans. They are 10-7 on the year. CHHS returns home next Tuesday to face Eufaula in an area contest.

Lady Trojans get bombed by No. 7 Lady Bulldogs

Andalusia used a swarming defense to wear down the Lady Trojans’ top two scorers, Kelly Miller and Jenean Deveridge, both who were instrumental in beating the Lady Bulldogs back on Jan. 6 at Troy.

The end result was a 52-30 victory for Andalusia over their long-time Wiregrass rivals. The Lady Bulldogs improve to 14-3 overall with the win, while CHHS fell to 8-7.

The Lady Bulldogs wanted to take away the scoring of Jenean Deveridge and the long-range shooting of

Miller. They succeeded in the second half.

"We wanted to take those two scorers away, especially Miller. She hurt us a lot with the three-pointer at Troy," Locke said.

Deveridge, who had nine points in the first half, ended up with 13. Clarissa Parker and Karla Hollis had six apiece for the Lady Trojans.
